Tennis is a whole universe. It’s effort and dreams. Sweat and frustration. Crying after a loss and yelling with joy after an ace. And everything changes — opponents, surfaces, weather, equipment, confidence.

But there is one thing that is always present. Overlooked. Ignored. Lying quietly at the back of the court. The yellow fluff that comes off the balls. It was there for the winner. For the mishit. For the moment everything fell apart.
